Selling or trading your bike

1. Buying a bike: returns, refunds and guarantee

Every bike we sell is AK Certified: inspected, serviced and test-ridden in our workshop before it's listed. These terms apply to bikes you buy from AK Bikes.

1.1 Returns and exchanges within 7 days

• You can ask to return or exchange a bike within 7 calendar days of the purchase date. After 7 days, the sale is final.
• To start, contact us with your proof of purchase. See how to start a return or claim.

1.2 What you get back

• Issue with the bike: if there's a mechanical defect or fault that we verify, you get a full refund to your original payment method. No fees.
• Personal preference: if you return the bike for a reason not related to a verified defect, such as a change of mind or wanting a different model, a 15% restocking fee applies. We refund the rest to your original payment method.
• The restocking fee is 15% of the original purchase price. It covers processing, inspecting and restocking the returned bike.

1.3 Condition of returned bikes

The bike must come back in the same condition we sold it in, with any parts and accessories that came with it. We inspect every returned bike before we approve a return or exchange. It must have:

• no crash, collision or other physical damage after purchase
• no tampering, misuse or negligence of any kind
• no unauthorised modifications, alterations or part replacements
• all original components intact and unaltered

If any of these aren't met, the request isn't eligible and we hand the bike back to you as presented.

1.4 Exchanges

• You can exchange for another bike in our current stock of equal or greater value.
• If you choose a bike that costs less, we don't refund the difference in cash. It's issued as store credit.
• For exchanges made for personal preference, the 15% restocking fee is deducted from the value of your original purchase before the exchange value or any store credit is worked out.
• Exchanges depend on a suitable bike being in stock at the time.

1.5 Store credit

When we issue store credit, for example the difference on an exchange:

• it's valid for 30 days from the date it's issued and can't be extended
• it's non-transferable, so only the original buyer can use it
• you can use it on any in-store purchase at AK Bikes

1.6 30-day mechanical guarantee

Every bike is professionally serviced, tuned and checked to our standards before it goes on sale. We back that with a 30-day mechanical guarantee from the purchase date.

• Covered: mechanical faults that our technicians verify were already there when we sold you the bike.
• What we do: repair or fix the fault free of charge in our own workshop.
• Not covered: damage from crashes, improper use, neglect or unauthorised modifications, and normal wear and tear such as tyres, tubes, brake pads and chains.
• How to claim: bring the bike to our showroom within the 30 days. We assess whether the fault qualifies under the guarantee.

1.7 Pre-loved bikes are sold as-is

All our bikes are pre-owned. Apart from the 7-day return policy and the 30-day mechanical guarantee above, each bike is sold as-is, which means you accept it in the condition it's in at the time of purchase. We service every bike before sale, but please inspect it yourself before you buy. Our team is happy to answer questions and show you the bike.

1.8 Before you buy

We give accurate details about each bike's condition, history and specification. Before you buy, we encourage you to:

• inspect the bike, visually and mechanically
• ask for any service history or condition report we have
• ask us anything about its condition, specification or history
• take it for a test ride where appropriate

1.9 Cancellations

Once a purchase is complete and paid for, it can't be cancelled. If you change your mind, the 7-day return and exchange terms above apply. If you have any doubts about a bike, please talk to us before you pay.

1.10 Manufacturer warranty

We're an independent pre-owned retailer, not an authorised dealer, so no manufacturer's warranty comes with any bike, part or accessory we sell. Our 30-day mechanical guarantee is the only post-purchase guarantee we offer, and no other warranties, express or implied, apply.

1.11 How to start a return or claim

1. WhatsApp us on +971 54 161 0065 with your receipt or order number and a short description.
2. Bring the bike to AK Bikes, Shop 24, 5th Street, Al Raeesi Complex, Umm Ramool, Dubai. Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm.
3. We check it with you and agree the next step: repair, exchange or refund.

2. Delivery

• Free delivery: on orders of AED 3,500 or more, anywhere in the UAE.
• Dubai: AED 200 on orders under AED 3,500.
• Other Emirates: AED 400 on orders under AED 3,500.
• Collection: free from our showroom in Umm Ramool, usually ready within 24 hours.
• Timing: we dispatch promptly, and deliveries are usually completed within 24 to 48 hours of your order being confirmed. Once your order is on its way, you'll get a confirmation with tracking details.
• Where we deliver: within Dubai and to the other Emirates. We don't ship internationally.
• Order confirmation: after you order, we email you a confirmation with your purchase and delivery details. Use the tracking details in that email to follow your order.

3. Bike rentals

By renting a bike from AK Bikes, you agree to the following.

3.1 Your ID and deposit

• You leave a valid physical ID with us, such as your Emirates ID or passport, for the whole rental. We return it once everything is settled, including any damage charges.
• Your security deposit is refunded when the bike comes back in the same condition it was in at the start of the rental.

3.2 Looking after the bike

• You pay all rental fees and any damage charges, and bring the bike back in good condition at the end of the rental.
• Return the bike on time. Late returns may be charged.
• Report any damage straight away. You're responsible for the cost of repairing it.
• Ride safely and responsibly, avoid any prohibited activities, and only ride in safe weather conditions.
• If the bike is stolen during your rental, you're responsible for paying its full price. AK Bikes isn't liable for theft during the rental period.

3.3 Liability

• You waive any claims against AK Bikes arising from the operation, use or misuse of the bikes or products we provide.
• AK Bikes accepts no liability for accidents, injuries or death at any time during the rental period.

3.4 Cancellations, changes and event bookings

• Standard rentals: once the rental transaction is complete, it can't be cancelled or refunded, and no claims will be accepted.
• Advance and event bookings (for example Dubai T100 or Dubai Ride): you can reschedule once to a future date free of charge, or cancel with a 15% cancellation fee.
• Our rental bikes are also for sale, so we can't guarantee a specific bike or model for an advance booking. The bike you get depends on availability at collection.

4. Selling or trading your bike to us

When you sell or trade in a bike to AK Bikes, you confirm that:

• you're the sole owner of the bike, or you have the rightful owner's explicit permission to sell it
• the bike was bought from an authorised, authentic dealer and isn't stolen property
• you've received a fair price that we both agreed, and the full agreed amount has been paid to you, completing the sale
• ownership of the bike passes to AK Bikes when you receive payment
• AK Bikes may sell, refurbish or otherwise use the bike commercially

4.1 On our side

• Once the sale is complete, AK Bikes, as the buyer, won't make claims, ask for a refund or cancel the sale.
• We buy the bike in its current condition, without any warranty or guarantee from you, after having the chance to inspect it thoroughly.
• Both of us confirm that the sale and transfer of ownership meet all legal requirements.

5. Privacy

5.1 What we collect

• Personal information: your name, contact details, address and identification details.
• Transaction information: details of your purchases and transactions with us.
• Device information: IP address, browser type and device details, for analytics.

5.2 How we use it

• To process your purchases and fulfil your orders.
• To answer your questions, help you and resolve any concerns.
• To analyse how our services are used so we can improve what we offer and how our website works.

5.3 Who we share it with

• Trusted service providers who help us fulfil orders, process payments and run analytics, and only the information they need.
• Authorities, where the law requires it or in response to legal requests.

5.4 Your choices

• You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
• You can ask to see or update your personal information by contacting us.

5.5 Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
